The headset doesn't seem to fit the shape of my face, and the glasses hit the edge of the headset and light leaks in from the side.

If the faceplate on the the headset becomes old and worn, replace it with a new one. There are third party face covers for VR headsets and face plates available online which can provide a more comfortable experience.
